The Contest:
This contest will be conducted as outlined on our website. The contest and will last approximately 12 weeks with each musician competing every 2 weeks until the champions are crowned. Champions will be crowned in each age and style division and then will move on to compete for the title of Grand Champion.
Referral Fee:
Since there would be no contest without contestants, we need help in recruiting talented people to compete and are offering prize money to the persons who recruits the Division Champions in each age division. Performing Artist will be asked to name whomever introduced them to the contest, if anyone, at registration. You may help by handing out a Referral Card which you can get on our website and/or just email us the names, phone numbers and/or email addresses of your favorite Artists to ted@utahtalentshowdown.com and we will invite them to participate.
Contest Format:
Rules:
To register, musicians must fill out the entry form on our website and submit A registration fee of $35, due upon notice of acceptance. Fees are payable online via PayPal.
A mandatory meeting will be held prior to the contest to discuss rules and procedures and draw for bracket positioning to set dates and times.
All musicians are required to check in 30 minutes prior to the beginning of the round of competition.
Each musician must come prepared to perform 2 musical selections (one fast and one slower) not to exceed 8 minutes in total time and that have not been preformed in a previous round.
There will be two minutes between performances to allow for set-up.
Musicians may have 1 accompanist except for drums and keyboard.
Musicians may also bring a minus-track CD accompaniment (no lead instrument). Sound system and technician will be provided by the house.
Judging:
One round constitutes 2 musicians competing one on one against each other.
Each round will be judged by two or more professional judges.
Contestants will be judged according to technique, rhythm, creativity, and intonation
